Meyers Falls (JM-32786)
The Pine River was full and flowing fast as it roared over Myers Falls in Florence Co., WI on this beautiful fall morning. The 89-mile length of the Pine River was designated as a Wisconsin Wild River in 1965. The river, born in the forests and swamps of the Nicolet National Forest, flows through a rugged and undeveloped area with limited and often difficult access. With shorelines heavily wooded with sugar maple, yellow birch, hemlock and white cedar on the upper section, this is a great place to hike or paddle (and portage) on an autumn day.
