Against the Wind (12-058)
White birch and sugar maple battle the wind on a rainy fall day near Hurley, Wisconsin. Wind is usually your “nemesis” when trying to make images in the forest, however, the blowing leaves here provide a nice blurred backdrop for the birch stems. I spotted this birch clump as my wife and I returned to the car following our walk to a nearby waterfall. My dear wife was kind enough to hold an umbrella over me and my camera while I focused on the birch.
